メトロ・ボルチモア神学校（MBS）とグレースシティチャーチ東京の協働による新しい神学教育プログラム【東京コホート】始動！

メトロ・ボルチモア神学校（Metro Baltimore Seminary: MBS）とグレースシティチャーチ東京は、日本において神学教育への新たなアクセスを提供するため、協働して【東京コホート】を立ち上げました。

東京コホートは、2025年11月にスタートし、メンタリングと実践的なミニストリー・トレーニングを中心とした学びを開始しています。さらに2026年夏からは、MBSの教授陣によるオンライン授業が加えられる予定です。

本プログラムは、すでにミニストリーに携わっている英語スピーカーを主な対象とし、3〜4年の学びを通して神学修士（Master of Divinity / M.Div）取得を目指します。神学的・学問的な形成と、現場に根ざした実践的トレーニングの両立を特徴としています。

日本では、人口減少と牧師の高齢化が急速に進んでいます。この取り組みが、日本の教会に仕える次世代のリーダーを育てるための、重要な一歩となることを私たちは願っています。

Metro Baltimore Seminary (MBS) and Grace City Church Tokyo have partnered to launch a new initiative making theological education accessible to students in Japan!

The Tokyo Cohort began in November 2025 with a regimen of mentoring and practical ministry training. Beginning in summer of 2026, they will add in online instruction from MBS faculty. Designed primarily for English speakers already involved in ministry service, this 3-4 year program yields a Master of Divinity degree (M.Div) and provides both academic formation and hands-on ministry experience. Population decline and the increase in the average age of pastors in Japan are progressing rapidly. We hope that this program will be a step forward in raising up a new generation of church leaders in Japan.
